Exploring Public Opinion and Policy

Exploring Public Opinion and Policy

2025
This team created “The Survey Navigator,” an interactive platform that helps users discover, compare, and visualize public opinion data. Led by professors Sunshine Hillygus and Alexander Volfovsky, and supported by Duke’s Polarization Lab, we will harness the power of statistics, machine learning, and AI to transform raw survey questions into clear, user-friendly insights for policymakers, journalists, and community groups. Together, we’ll explore how varying question wording impacts responses, while building advanced tools that make large-scale data both accessible and meaningful to all.
Project Leads: Alex Volfovsky, Statistics and Sunshine Hillygus, Political Science
