iiD welcomes Dr. Vahid Tarokh to Duke as the Rhodes Family Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Vahid creates new methods for modeling and making predictions from small amounts of data, and the algorithms that he developed for wireless communications power billions of consumer devices. Vahid is moving from Harvard, where he was a Perkins Professor of Applied Mathematics, Hammond Vinton Hayes Senior Research Fellow in Electrical Engineering, and a member of Center for Mathematics and Applications at Harvard University. We are proud of attracting Vahid to Duke, and grateful to the Quantitative Initiative for making it possible.
