Joe Futoma graduated with his Ph.D. in Statistical Science on May 13, 2018 under the supervision of Katherine Heller, after successfully defending his dissertation entitled “Gaussian Process-Based Models for Clinical Time Series in Healthcare”. In June 2018 he started a postdoctoral fellowship in the Center for Research on Computation and Society at Harvard’s John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, under the supervision of Finale Doshi-Velez. He also continues to maintain a research associate position at Duke in the Dept. of Statistical Science.
