iiD is thrilled to welcome Hau-Tieng Wu and Xiuyuan Cheng to Duke and to iiD.
Hau-Tieng Wu joined Duke in 2016 and has been working in iiD since last Spring. He is an associate professor in the Mathematics department at Duke, with a joint appointment in the Department of Statistical Science. Hau-Tieng joins us from the University of Toronto’s Department of Mathematics, and his research interests include the analysis of differential geometry and algebraic topology and the analysis of time series by applying harmonic analysis and random process, among others.
Xiuyuan Cheng is Assistant Professor and Scholar in Residence with the Department of Mathematics, and comes to Duke from Princeton University. Xiuyuan develops theoretical and computational techniques to solve problems in high-dimensional statistics, signal processing and machine learning and is currently teaching Math 690 Topics in Data Analysis and Computation.
We are delighted to welcome our new faculty and look forward to sharing their work. Welcome to iiD!
